LaS Fun Memory: Everyone singing the Mexican national anthem at our “El Grito” Celebration. Also, that the candy kept falling out when we made the candy necklaces for the valentine’s fundraiser.

I’m a freshman here on-campus. Next year, we’re hoping to yield higher results when fundraising for events that LaS puts on year-round! We have a strong representation here on campus and we want the club and the events to be a reflection of our active participation throughout the campus.
¡ Ojala que todo vaya bien este semestre!

LaS Fun Memory: Cinco De Mayo is a huge event we have annually on campus, and every year we try to spice it up by adding something new and entertaining!

I love to play fútbol (Atlas y Chivas!) My favorite music has to be music from South America such as “musica Andina” from Peru and Bolivia, and Rock ʼn Español; my favorites being Enanitos Verdes, Café tacuba, Mana, La maldita Vecindad, Zoe, Fobia and much more! ¡Me encanta hablar español porque es mi primer idioma, pero trato de superar mi ingles cada día para no quedarme atrás! Me encanta estar siempre feliz.

I have been a member of LaS since my freshman year, not only was I part of the founding officers, but I also helped organized the constitution for us to be able to finally have an official Latino Students club on campus. Soy Mexicana de sangre nacida en California, I lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco México for 7 years, then I return to California to continue my education. I have to admit that I miss living in Mexico being that my most of my family lives there. I graduated from Dinuba High School and currently a sophomore at UCM. I am also part of the Ballet Folklorico de UCM where I as well was part of the founding of the club.

LaS Fun Memory: So far, the most memorable moment I have from being in LaS is our first annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration, I still remember the fun times we spend putting balloons and ribbon around the school. We had to stay all day until about 3 am in the morning trying to decorate the school for our grand celebration. I still have the picture of us jumping the fence of the construction zone as if we were going to jump the border ¡Espero este año nuestra celebración de Cinco de Mayo sea igual y hasta mejor que la de la año pasado!

I plan for the future but live by the day… es que in this world anything can happen and one must be prepared for all kinds of adventures.
Little things make me happy. The color green, The rain, The sun set, a river, the mountains, walking, lilies (my favorite flowers), milk chocolate, strawberry icecream, and for fruit all the berries.
Definitely, I love the arts!! I like music, painting, drawing, photography, and all those things open to interpretation.
